Street Walkers

I was quite shocked to hear on my local news radio, that another pedestrian was struck and killed. This is the third that I have heard this over the past few months. I'm sure there's more that will come to pass. A middle aged man crossing the street, not at the crosswalk,he was struck by a car. Unfortunately he died of of the injuries. The driver of the car did not even get a ticket, because the victum was jay-walking. An elderly man in a motorized wheel chair was going across the heavily congested intersection was struck, and killed by a red-neck pick-up truck. Yes,even in a motorized wheel chair, its impossible to beat the 30 seconds the cross walk signal gives. The driver was not given a ticket. The third victum a 15 year old died after being struck by a pick-up truck. Same results. Where I come from, pedestrians have the right of way. Also its up to the driver to pay close attention to the road and always be aware of pedestrians attempting to cross the road....you don't pick up speed to score points for hitting the person, even if he's jay walking. This is common in Pinellas County. dang this here Florida!
